Samarth Hegde is one of the emerging young Hindustani Classical Flute Artists from Karnataka, India. Known for his soulful tone, depth of expression, and creative versatility, he represents a new generation of artists who seamlessly blend tradition with innovation.
Early Life and Musical Roots
Born on 13 November 1997 into a musically inclined family, Samarth’s journey began under the guidance of his father, Sri Ramachandra Hegde, who trained him in Vocal and Harmonium. His rhythmic foundation was laid by his uncle, Shri Tirumaleshwar Hegde, through early lessons in Tabla.
Samarth’s fascination with the Bansuri began in childhood, inspired by its pure, meditative sound. He first learned from Shri Prabhas Hegde, Bislakoppa, and later joined Gokula Bansuri Gurukula, Shiranala, where he continues to train under Guru Shri Nagaraj Hegde for over a decade.
Musical Journey
Samarth’s journey in Hindustani Classical Music has been one of deep dedication and exploration. Under his guru’s guidance, he has mastered intricate ragas, taans, and layakari, blending traditional gayaki ang with creative expression.
Beyond the classical realm, he has developed expertise in studio production and sound engineering, working on numerous recordings, film backgrounds, and live performances.
He has also acquired advanced skills in music arrangement and studio recording for many film songs and background scores.
Samarth is also a composer, creating original melodies for Semi-Classical, Folk, and Devotional songs, reflecting his versatility and emotional depth.

• B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) – Graduate
• Vidwat (Final Grade) in Hindustani Classical Music – Flute (conducted by Government of Karnataka)
